Internet Slang, Jokes

穿越 [chuān yuè]

穿越 [chuān  yuè]  v. To go through (the time tunnel), to travel in time.

While watching Titanic in a Shenzhen movie theater yesterday, just as the ship hit the iceberg, the power went out! Some guy in the row behind cried out, “What the fuck! It’s this easy to travel in time?!”

[Note: The person used the Internet slang term “Chuanyue” (go through the time tunnel) because over the past few years Time-Travel TV Dramas have been popular in China. People often refer to the similarities between different historic periods as achieving “time travel.”]
